Paradise Cove Beach Cafe

A memory in every visit

  • Nightly Specials
  • Live Jazz and Mariachi Band
  • Kid-friendly beach

Bob Morris' Paradise Cove Beach Café is the only restaurant in Malibu that is right on the sand with its own private beach and cove. The next time you're trying to think of where to bring your family, date or loved one for dinner, consider Paradise Cove. Enjoy the beach, the people, the food and the giant mile high chocolate cakes. It's romantic, with a private cove, ocean views, jazz nights and delicious seafood.

Come for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, or just to hang out and relax with a drink. Our breakfast menu includes items such as Belgian waffles, pancakes, breakfast burritos, French toast and double cheese egg omelets. For lunch, we have lots of sandwiches to choose from, a salad bar and appetizers.

Editorial Review for Paradise Cove Beach Cafe – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
This secluded spot is the quintessential beach bar and restaurant. Sarong-wearing locals drink Coronas from icy buckets two feet from the water, while barefoot diners snag seats in the sand after ordering food and drinks. Large groups and families wait for tables overlooking the Pacific at the full-service restaurant inside. Sesame-encrusted ahi tuna steak sandwich is a lunch favorite, while seafood dinners include iced platters filled with poached shrimp, shucked oysters and king crab legs.

Insider Tips

When to Go

In keeping with the venue's long history as a set for TV shows like "Gidget" and films such as "Beach Blanket Bingo," movies are still occasionally shot at the private, secluded location.

Parking

Parking is $3 for four hours with validation, but you need to spend at least $20 on food and/or drinks. Otherwise, the parking fee alone is $20.

Where to Sit

The beach bar--which is really just chairs in the sand--is one of the most popular spots on the coast.

A cafe right on top of the ocean, beautiful scenery, good appetizers and drinks but the fish I had that day was okay. It's expensive if you are not ordering the burger and fries. Very crowded, we had a 45 minute wait. We had people around us asking us to move so they can fit their huge group of people on a table that was too close to ours. All of the tables are very close to each other. If you don't mind a crowded place with long waits and 7.00 dollar drinks don't bother you either, this is a great place to eat at.

Pros: On top of the sand, loved the coconut drink, Calamari appetizer amazing, my choice for dinner wasn't that great

Cons: LONG 45-2 HOURS WAITING PERIOD, PARKING, CROWDED

My 13 year old grandson, Keith, had the time of his life. He loved his huge cheeseburger and fries plus his giant coke; our waitress was so very friendly and came to our table numerous times to see if we wanted anything more even though there were a lot of people for lunch that day. He then rolled in the waves on the beach with other kids, but, when he saw Miley Cyrus who had just come on the sand to film her movie, that was the finishing touch. His two sisters got some great pictures of her that day with his camera. All in all, it was an unforgetable experience for him and I loved it too. It's my most favorite place to take all my grandchldren.

Pros: Great whole beach experience

Cons: none
